Redesign in Progress

Jan. 7 notes This is definitely the wrong order to do things in. But here I am, nonetheless. Take heed - it is much easier to put all the elements together in a graphics program, than live with html! I am referring to finding a place for networking profiles - twitter, facebook, subscribe, newsletter, etc. I had planned the top nav bar, I had planned the top of the sidebar - with the links to the Members site, I had planned the header. I had planned the background, and the page transparency. I completely overlooked where to put the profile buttons! So now, I'm back to the drawing board. … [Read more...]

Best of DSWP 2009

It is hard to summarize such an amazing year at DSWP. Thanks to the amazing Heather Jacobson who founded this venture, and thanks to all of you who trust me with your online treasures, it has turned into one fantastic year!! I think the best way to summarize would be to list some of the new resources for you that we've established this year. Granted, you've been frustrated with the login procedure for the Members site, and some of these newly offered services have come with growing pains, but even so you've been so loyal and encouraging! Some of you have become friends, and I just couldn't … [Read more...]

Here is selection method D: Look for … [Read more...]

WordPress 2.9

Another chic WordPress release.   One of the reasons I trust WordPress to store my writing (which is rare and precious these days) is the huge community that supports it.  Fortunately, the days of a lone geek in his mama's basement are long past for WordPress.   In this release there were over 4001 contributors! So, to the new goodies in this version: image editor in the media module (as in you can crop, flip, and rotate the images) easier media enclosures (youtube plugins are a thing of the past2) a trash bin for your deleted posts (you can restore them from the 'trash' tab in the … [Read more...]

What would you think of this?

Image via Wikipedia I have been thinking I should redesign this site - live.  So when I update it - you see it.  The first step is to upload the starting theme and remove the formatting.  Then I add some in a little at a time, editing and optimizing the code as I go. Over the next few weeks - yeah, it will probably take me awhile - I plan on changing things up around here.  The content will remain the same, and the plugin recommendations, and products will still be under the same headings so you can find the support and solutions that you've become comfortable with. On your marks, get … [Read more...]
