This tutorial will show you how to add Google Plus to your WordPress website. This covers self-hosted websites, not those on wordpress.com.
What we want to accomplish:
- Easy sharing of your content
- Flowing and obvious placement of all social networks
- Customizing the twitter ‘via attribute’ ie: via @dswordpress
- Easy selection of styles and buttons

Simple step-by-step instructions
1. Add the plugin
Go to your Plugins tab, Add New subtab. And search for “Share This”. Select to install the plugin ShareThis by Manu Mukerji. After it is installed, click on “Activate”.
2. Configure the plugin
Go to Settings tab, ShareThis subtab. And follow these simple steps:
a) Select your preferred button style.
Available styles:
Horizontal Count
Large Icons
Vertical Count
Simple Share
Icon & Text
Icons only
b) Select the box to include Facebook Like and Google Plus (optional)
c) Select “Multi Post” version.
d) Select the + sign next to “Click to change order of social buttons or modify list of buttons.”

Input the list of services you would like, in the desired order. The available services are listed below:

e) Next, lets add the “via @mytwitterhandle” to the twitter button. See the diagram below. Look for the code that looks like this:

Find the last apostrophe and before that add your handle. See the diagram below for an example.
Where to place twitter handle
f) The last thing you need to do is go to ShareThis.com and sign up. Once you have signed up, you will be assigned a Publisher Key. Copy that key and paste it into the box, as shown in the diagram below:

And then you select which posts and/or pages on which you’d like the buttons to display. Select “Update ShareThis Options”.
And you’re done!
