If I named it, "Skill Appropriate" Way to use Flickr Images in WordPress, would you get it?  I just read the urban dictionary for "fool proof", other than the ones that made me blush, the one I got a chuckle of, was "Skill Appropriate" - the politically correct term for fool proof. The thing with inserting images using the new automatic embed process, is that it sometimes doesn't work.  Read: it RARELY works.  For example, if you insert the link like this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/cathytibbles/4017760583/, it won't work (see?) If you insert it like … [Read more...]

Wendy had emailed earlier this week with a tip for adding watermarks to your photos.  The first photo below from Wendy's blog is a little naked at the moment.  What we're aiming for is a watermark similar to the photo on the right from the Picky-Palate blog. Wendy, La Phemme Phoodie, with gorgeous photos all over her foodie blog, wrote this: I exchanged messages with Jenny at PickyPalate. She uses Picnik. For example, while writing this post about Zemanta, it suggested the LINK - Zemanta, and the accompanying copyright image that you see here.  All I did was click on them and they … [Read more...]

How to create buttons, email links, and more…

Dear Becca, (I love your avatar - too cute!) Your questions answered: 1. By grey boxes around everything - I assume you mean the images?   To remove these, go to Appearance>>Edit, and find the Style.css- should be listed at the bottom of the right-hand side. - scan through that file until you find: a img {border: 3px solid grey; .....} - change the border width to zero like so: a img {border: 0px solid grey; ....} Note - there may be more than one instance of "img" so you may need to use your notepad and search & replace feature to find each … [Read more...]
