Lessons from GuelichCapital Founder, Connie Guelich

Guelich Capital Management LLC —

I want to thank Connie Guelich for the taking the time to share her business experience and advice with us. 1.  If you could change anything about your start up years, what would it be? This is a tough question.  I started as a young mother of two so I was balancing family and building a business. The most important advice I have for Mom’s building a business is to be very disciplined about setting aside time to work and time for family. Set up a schedule for yourself just as if you were reporting to work for someone else.  Then when you work, work hard.  Give it your all.  But, … [Read more...]

keys

No.  The Business Blog is not dying in any real sense.  Perhaps some preconceived notion of a business blog is.  But the real reasons for writing a business blog still exist -  to give your company a personal voice, to create a loyal community, and to moderate your online reputation.  Before setting pen to paper or finger to key, you need to keep in mind a few things: the only things worth writing are those that support your website's overall goals (trust, authority, branding, etc) your blog will only be read if you do the work to gain an audience, and publicize it anything you … [Read more...]

At that time, blogging was fairly new but was becoming widely popular. Amanda was right, within a year the bloggers who participated and commented back, … [Read more...]

The Future of SEO and 10 Tips for Optimizing Content

seo

This content will be covered in more detail in a course I'm currently procrastinating the writing of.   Hopefully this will help get you started! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here's what puzzles me: if an SEO Expert does anything that is beyond 'best practices' you'll have to hire him/her again to change everything after every Google algorithm update.  So why do so many people hire SEO Experts?  The safer content optimization strategies are simply best practices and a little common sense. Here's a summary of what I've … [Read more...]

teri

Why did you start blogging?  And how did you decide to turn it into a book? OK...here's the truth -- when I started my blog, Keeping it Personal, I didn't know what a blog was, I actually spent time on google looking up the word and doing so research to wrap my arms around it.  What I did know is this, I was passionate about helping others.  That's what I knew -- SO with Keeping it Personal, I thought I could write a daily nugget to encourage or inspire someone -- who ever would read what I had to say!  I gave the daily nugget a name "Daily KIP" {Daily Keeping it Personal} and in addition … [Read more...]
