Adding a Blog to an Existing Website – even a complicated one

I was contacted by a start up that wanted to add a blog to their custom (and complicated) website. We used their original design as a basis, copied some images, and here is the result:

Because Strawberries is my site, I have little to no time to fuss on the design, but I wanted to improve the SEO of the site, so I put Thesis on there. Save for the rotating images (on the front page) and header, the rest is basic select-an-option from the thesis options panel. The fonts, colors, everything – is right there for you to select with a click of your mouse – with NO coding needed! Interested? Click the Thesis button in my sidebar to see the pricing options. Fresh Clean Minimalist True-Blog Inspiration

I have to admit Melanie’s input was integral to the finished product. She came up with the gorgeous graphic, and after I tried (I think I’m picking up a pattern here) to submit several designs with ‘more’, I finally caved and created the minimalist design she was after. And I can’t believe how gorgeous it turned out to be! This is based on a Thesis theme, and will be able to keep her site loading quickly, and search engines updated. In her introductory post, Melanie talks a lot about the ‘soft peacock blue’, but I want to know what you’d call this pink/red/fuschia color! Fuschia sounds like my taffeta prom dress. I should have known then that ‘minimal’ wasn’t going to be my forte.

Integration with e-shop

Jan has been creating selling her art for a long time to friends and family. She has an Etsy shop, but wanted something in a local currency for her friends in Ireland. Now she has all the options for currencies, payment gateways, and especially the policies and small print – the store is now hers to run as she chooses! I love the fact that she chose a monochrome palette and the Reisling font – very classy!
